I am interested in doing business and I have a business idea, but I lack the needed capital. “ The outgoing statement reflects the major excuse that people give for not engaging in business. And by capital, most of them are referring to the funds with which to commence a commercial enterprise.

IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO BUSINESS WITH NO CAPITAL. Yes, you read it right. You, as a person, are a walking capital. You are endowed with talents, gifts, health, knowledge, wisdom, relationships and several other blessings which constitute capital in their own rights. You can use what you have to get what you want; you can turn your endowments into business capital and start-up funds, and before you know it, you are already in business.

Take comedians, singers, athletes etc. for example. They create wealth for themselves using their talents and skills. For instance, if you notice that you are good at inventing jokes that make people laugh and creating humor out of almost everything, you can organise such abilities towards becoming a comedian. You can become more sensitive to, and observant of, issues and events around your environment and turn them into materials for your jokes which you can deliver to your audience either as a stand-up comedian, by recording them on CDs or by rendering them as MC (Master of Ceremony) in occasions. You can later use whatever funds you generate in the process to build a stronger and more secure base for yourself.  Nigerian Comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, now hosts one of the biggest entertainment shows in Africa, AY live, where he brings different types of entertainers together to render jokes dance, drama and musical performances to high-paying audiences. He started as a stand-up comedian. Other such comedians as Bright Okpocha (BasketMouth), Teju Babyface and Baby have organized series of lucrative comedy concerts. Similarly, a lot of Nigerian musicians who started their careers in school bands are church choirs now have their record labels that generate huge incomes for them.

If you notice that you are interested in sport and have some innate talents in running, boxing, weight lifting or any other athletics, endeavor to keep training to develop it until you find yourself on the stage where you can showcase it for good monetary returns.

Most of the treasures we need in life are within us. The good news is that we are all blessed with one aptitude or another that does not necessarily require any external financial boost to spark into a resource-generating venture. In this case, all you have to invest as capital is train, believe, focus and work hard. People who use their talents magnetise money. The better you are at using your gift, the more money you will make. Your gift is your business. The Bible confirms this in Proverbs 18: 16 where it says:  “A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men”

You and all that you have been created with are CAPITAL IN MOTION
