Taking Business Steps

Business is a step-by-step activity. But like a staircase, the steps provide the only way up. You do not necessarily have to see the top of the stairs to take the first step. Unfortunately however, most people tend to exercise fear when venturing into a business. They let their minds get dominated by the fear of failure, fear of the unknown, fear of competition and other ridiculous forms of fear. Some people even exhibit a defeatist mentality, thinking that they are too young or too old to embark on the business they have set their minds to do.

One good news is that whatever you have set your mind to do, you will succeed in it as long as you focus your mind to do it. The primary requirement is to have the burning desire to succeed in the particular business. From that conviction, passion and drive in your mind, you will derive the strength, power and energy you need for the business towards success. You must have a strong belief and have faith that you will succeed, in order to be able to take the first step. Confidently take steps, because business is all about risk taking.

You can start small. Do not despise small beginnings. If you do, you might never see a great future. When your mind is set on a business, you attract all that is needed to take a step because your mind becomes connected to the physical world.

Amazingly, when you take a step, God also steps in with you. Know also that whatever you set your mind to do can be powerful; you never can tell what will eventually come out of it. With the little thing you have begun and are nurturing gradually, you may already be building a business empire.

Finally and very importantly, you have to become uncomfortable with your comfort zone. Business is not necessarily a matter of convenience, not with the inevitable risk factor that it entails. It therefore means that if you are waiting for all the odds to swing in your favour before you take any step, you may be waiting forever. Endeavour to test new waters, to take the bend in the road even without clearly knowing where it leads, and to begin to climb the staircase even without knowing what the last step looks like.

The only way to start a journey is to start it. It is the same with business.
